Human Mom Moment of the Day
My husband and I have really been blessed by Baby V. She's a pretty happy camper most of the time, except for when she has a diaper situation. Lately, she's been waking up in the mornings with a dry diaper (I think it's her solution for hating being soiled), but she quickly remedies that. What this means is that each morning, we go through diapers like it is our job. My Human Mom Moment (HMM) of the day was getting ready to leave the house for a fabulous mommy/baby lunch and realizing that both Baby V and myself were up to our elbows... Into the bath she (well really we) went, and then it was off to the lunch like nothing had happened! What was your HMM today?
The Human Mom
Last night, I "rested" in bed with a restless mind. As my mind raced from idea to idea, I laughed at myself. Here I was awake next to a perfectly angelic, sleeping 11 week old tiny human, and I was planning my next day, my next project when I clearly should have been sleeping. What was I thinking? I stopped and stared at Baby V, her chest rising and falling, and listened to her perfect baby sleeping sounds as I drifted off to sleep. It was a perfectly human moment. I felt connected to my daughter, and my heart was full.
My name is Ashley, and I am a mom of one sweet girl, who we'll call Baby V. This blog is designed to be a way for me to record my thoughts, remember the process of developing as a parent, and most importantly, for me to remind myself in print of my most human moments. I am as guilty as the next mom of trying to do too much - I am a Pinterest Peruser. I want to bring fresh-baked goodness to every event. My house will always be clean when people come over (even though it rarely is when they aren't) - But instead of blogging and sharing the moments where things are "Pinterest perfect," I want to use this space to celebrate my mistakes, growth, and beautifully human moments with my family.
While I obviously choose to parent in certain ways and will share them on this blog, I want to acknowledge that there are many different ways to parent. The advice out there is never-ending and always conflicting. Please use my experiences as you will. Take what's helpful and laugh at what isn't. I hope you'll share and celebrate your Human Mom moments with me here.
